Due to copyright law and other access restrictions, many electronic resource collections require access to occur only by authorized users. Since most of this is accomplished using IP restrictions, Ezproxy was developed by OCLC to allow students to access resources when off campus. During my time at the Sherrod Library, I installed, configured, and maintained the main proxy server. When East Tennessee State University partnered with multiple other institutions (North East State Community College, James H. Quillen Medical School, and Mountain States Health Alliance), I upgraded our server to allow us to service all of these institutions. This was no simple task, as the proxy system was not set up to provide proxies for multiple different institutions at once. However, working with their developers and the Sherrod Library's Electronic Resources Specialist, we were able to solve the problems required to get this installation functioning properly.
